30-pin dock connector



We are familiar with the traditional Apple dock connector for nine (!) Years. In 2003, it came into use, and since then has not changed - it's cool.

But sooner or later, progress requires sacrifice. In this case, the victim, to some extent, have become manufacturers of accessories, since the new iPhone 5 Dock connector, 8-pin, called Lightning.
In addition to reducing by 80% the size it has become stronger and more comfortable, you can insert any party. Apple is actively working with suppliers of accessories, and soon we will see a compatible peripherals from Bose, JBL, Bowers & Wilkens and other famous brands.
And for old accessories is convenient adapter. Essentially, when you use it the whole structure is not much different from the usual 30-pin cable.
